Share Your Day as a Color Bar Chart

FeatureShareTimeline

Sidefy is adding a share card for today’s timeline color bars—a double-ring clock image you can share, copy, or save.

Sidefy is adding a share card for today’s color bars—a new way to export today’s timeline as a single image. Instead of cropping the sidebar, you get a compact double 12-hour clock ring that keeps the same color bars, merge groups, and gradients you already see on the timeline.

It’s useful when you want to show someone what your day actually looks like in Sidefy: a packed morning, a long focus block, or how calendar, RSS, and plugin events stack together on one line.

What’s on the Card

  • Inner ring — 00:00 through 11:59
  • Outer ring — 12:00 through 23:59
  • Timed color bars — drawn along each ring at the same start and end times as the sidebar
  • Merged groups — one arc per bubble group, with gradient or weighted color splits when sources blend
  • Gray track — background ring for empty time
  • Center — total event count for the day
  • Branding — Sidefy logo and name (bottom-left)
  • Date — today’s date and weekday (bottom-right)

The preview is generated from your current timeline, so you don’t need to rebuild the layout in another app.

How to Use It

  1. Open the Sidefy menu bar popover
  2. Choose Share → Color Bar Chart (below Rules)
  3. Preview the card, then Share, Copy, or Save as a high-resolution PNG (3× scale for Retina displays)

If today’s timeline is empty, refresh events and try again.

This post describes a feature in development; final behavior and timing may change slightly before the build reaches the Mac App Store.

Rolling out in an upcoming Sidefy release.
